She has arrived!

Just a very quick post to let you all know that our sweet Melanie Lynn has arrived safely! I will write a more in-depth description of my experience, but for now, here’s the good bits:
Melanie Lynn was born on Thursday, Feb. 16th at 1:20 p.m.
She weighed 8 pounds 15 ounces.
She was 22″ long.
She was delivered by Caesarean, which was unexpected for all of us. (I did not labor. More on that later.)
We were able to go home on Saturday afternoon, and I have spent the past few days trying to work out what it means to be a post-operative patient and new mom all at the same time. I love this new hat I’ve been blessed to wear. Melanie makes all the sleepless nights worth it.
I’ll post pictures the next time I write, and I’ll give you guys more of a sense of what happened the day she was born. But for now, let’s celebrate that Melanie and I are healthy, thriving, and happy! π
Yay! This. is what I have been waiting for! I can’t wait to see pictures. You don’t know how much I needed to hear this today.
Hugs to you and your family
See? I knew she was a little blessing. Six days old and already cheering people up just by being. π I hope you’re keeping well, Lisa! I’m sorry I haven’t been able to stay up to date on my blog reading, but I’ll catch up. E-mail any time you need a supportive ear! π
Same to you, especially when you struggle with sleep deprivation and other unexpected Mom stuff. Been there, done that, and I won’t judge. π
[…] I should fight (I include it amid the goddesses . . . guess which one it is). The second is this short but sweet little post announcing the birth of a girl. Welcome BabyHab, you are worth fighting for. #gallery-1 { margin: […]
How exciting! Congrats!! Can’t wait to see her pictures π
Thanks Tonia! π
Many congratulations and best wishes. And much joy ahead of you. This is such an amazing time of life: the questions, the doubt, the frustration, the sleep deprivation. And always, a wonder that will blow you away on a daily basis.
So true on all counts. It’s amazing how even the sleep deprivation and self-doubt are incredible experiences that I wouldn’t trade for anything.
Congrats Chibi! Can’t wait for the story and pictures!
Hehehe, thanks!! π How weird that we’re off growing up, huh? Getting married…having babies…unbelievable. π
Congrats! So happy for you and Robert!
Thank you Tawnysha!
Congratulations! I’ve been thinking of you all week. So happy you are both well. Can’t wait to see pictures!
Thanks Lacy!
Congratulations. Best wishes to you and your little family! π Looking forward to photos of your beautiful girl.
YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY! Wishing you a speedy recovery, lots of new baby snuggling and maybe a good nap or two π So happy she’s here!
Haha, thanks Tori! Recovery has been going very well–so has the snuggling. π She is just a little snuggle bunny!
Hooray! This is excellent news, Amanda. Hugs for you. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Blessings,
Kathy
Thanks Kathy! Recovery is going really well! π
Congratulations! I’m sure Melanie is just as beautiful as her mama. Can’t wait to meet her!
Thank you so much, Katharine! Let’s get together sometime soon!!
Congratulations!! So glad to hear you are okay! I am also a c-section momma and active participant in the local International Cesarean Awareness Network; which discusses recovery (not sure if I told you that?) – if there’s anything I can do for you please let me know.
Thank you so much, Tina. I might be sending you an e-mail about that in the not so distant future. I definitely had some struggles with getting a C-section.
You and my sister had your babies on the same day! That’s crazy! Congrats, I can’t wait to see pictures!
Did we really?? February 16th was a wonderful day! Congratulations to you, too, Auntie!! π
